Overview

WattFinds ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use wattfinds.com, how that information is used, and your rights with respect to that information.

Information We Collect

Click Events (Anonymized)

When you click a deal link on WattFinds, we record a click event. This event contains:

• A one-way hash of your IP address — we never store your actual IP address. The hash is used solely to deduplicate clicks (to avoid counting the same user clicking the same deal twice within 5 minutes) and is not reversible.
• Your browser user agent string (e.g., "Chrome 120 on Windows"), used to understand which device types our readers use.
• The HTTP referrer (the page you came from), if your browser sends one.
• The deal ID and traffic source parameter (e.g., "website" or "twitter").

We do not collect your name, email address, home address, or any information that directly identifies you.

Server Logs

Like all web servers, our server automatically records basic request logs including IP addresses, request paths, and timestamps. These logs are used for security monitoring and are retained for a maximum of 30 days.

Cookies

WattFinds does not set any first-party cookies. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels on our pages.

When you follow a deal link, you are redirected to a third-party retailer (such as Amazon or Walmart). Those retailers operate under their own privacy policies and may set cookies on their domains. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, third-party cookie practices.

Third-Party Services

WattFinds uses the following third-party services:

• Google Fonts — We load web fonts (Fraunces and Outfit) from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may log the request. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Affiliate Networks — Amazon Associates, Walmart Affiliate Program, and Best Buy Affiliate Program. When you click a deal link and are redirected to a retailer, that retailer's affiliate tracking systems activate. These systems are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy.

How We Use Information

The anonymized click data we collect is used exclusively to:

• Understand which deals are most popular so we can improve our curation.
• Deduplicate rapid repeat clicks on the same deal.
• Generate aggregate site analytics (total clicks, top deals, etc.).

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with any third party for marketing purposes. We do not build individual user profiles.

Data Retention

Anonymized click event records are retained indefinitely for analytics purposes. Because these records contain only hashed IP addresses (not real IPs), they cannot be linked back to any individual.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about data collected by third-party services used in connection with WattFinds, please refer to those services' own privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

WattFinds is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of WattFinds after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
